5 Foods a working mother should carry in her bag

Working two shifts a day is not easy. Between the day time job (work) and the evening job (motherhood), working mothers may not have the time to take care of their own food plan and health. I always use the flight safety rules as an example “In case of a loss of cabin pressure, … place your own mask first and then assist your child or other passengers”, in other words, If you don’t take care of yourself first, you may not be able to help others, even your own children.


As a working mother and in order to be able to bear the work and life pressure you need to carry with you these foods to work:



  1. Cheese stick: Rich in vitamin B12 which helps in coping with depression and in preventing confusion, it’s also a good source of protein and calcium.



  1. Banana: The vitamin B6 content in a banana is important in the metabolism of the happiness hormone - Serotonin. So, it will help you in staying calm and in a good mood even if you are day was going bad. Also, not to underestimate the Potassium in bananas which helps in balancing high blood pressure.



  1. Dates: Boost the energy level when you are running out of fuel with your busy schedule and rich in minerals and vitamins too.



  1. Almonds: Rich in Vitamin E, a very strong antioxidant that combat the byproduct of stress - the free radicals. Accumulation of free radicals in your body damage your cells and leave you vulnerable to many heart diseases and ageing too.



  1. Avocado: has many benefits for your health and one of them is its magnesium content, a mineral good at combating stress and making you feel more relaxed.



 Tomorrow, before you go to work, make sure to include these foods in your lunch box or in your food plan.
